American author, political activist and lecturer, Helen Keller, who was born blind, was once asked what she taught was worse than having no sight. To the astonishment of many, she responded – “… having eyes with no vision”. This leads to the big questions – Do you have a clear vision for your life? And are you aware of your purpose on planet Earth? If you’ve answered negatively to any of those questions, I’ve got something exciting for you today. In his book, The principles and power of vision, Dr. Myles Munroe, did an excellently smooth job of detailing virtually all you need to know about vision and how you can discover and pen down your life’s vision.

Some of the objectives which the book claims to unravel include: discovering and protecting your purpose in life, understanding the essence of vision to success, figuring out the key elements to fulfilling your life’s dream, developing a specific plan for accomplishing your vision, setting priorities for your life, and overcoming obstacles to your vision. And for sure the book did a good job at keeping to its promises.

The author is by all means very qualified to write on this topic. Dr. Myles Munroe was an international, motivational & transformational leader, teacher, speaker, preacher, evangelist and author. He is the author of about 38 books with about 16 of them hitting the bestseller list. Dr. Munroe founded the Bahamas Faith Ministry International which is a network of ministries. He was also an executive of other renowned organizations such as International Third World Leaders Association and International Leadership Training Institute which are focused on building leaders. He spent his lifetime to the study and teaching of leadership, vision, purpose, potential and the kingdom of God, and his life was a exemplary figure in those areas.

I had struggled with clearly understanding and identifying my life’s vision, but after perusing through this powerful book, that struggle has lost its hold on me. The principles and power of vision basically taught me the A-Z of vision in light of purpose. As is typical of Dr. Munroe’s book, the writing style adopted in the book is very easy to follow, and so while reading it, I felt as though he were speaking to me directly. I especially love the exercise at the end of the book where he drills his readers with a litany of questions to help them discover their vision.
