So, if you’d like to boost your level of self-discipline and break the barriers of excuses from your life, you will find this one book very handy – `“No Excuses – The Power of Self-discipline” by Brian Tracy.
The book aims to guide its readers on how to achieve lasting happiness and success. No Excuses, presents a no-nonsense approach on how to apply the miracle of self-discipline to achieve personal success, good life and success in business, finance and sales. In fact, it over-delivers on its promises. Backed up by anecdotes, life changing quotes, timeless principles, research findings, and real life instances, the book lays down the path to self-mastery (aka self-discipline) which ultimately leads to personal greatness.
I don’t know of anyone else better qualified to write a book on this topic than Brian Tracy. He is one of the world’s most successful speakers and consultants on personal and professional development. Brian has written over 70 books and a number of them – including Eat That Frog, Goals, Create Your Own Future, and The Power of Charm – have made it to the best seller list. He is the CEO of Brian Tracy International that’s affiliated with other organizations across USA and about 31 other countries in the world.
One of my major take-away from No Excuses was a definition of self-discipline by Elbert Hubbard which was referenced in the book, and it reads “Self-discipline is the ability to do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not.” I have been able to implement this in my life and have experienced drastic improvements which have gone a long way to boost my self-confidence, self-image and self-esteem. I basically also picked up several principles/rules the book recommended in applying self-discipline to different areas of my life (e.g. career, business, health & fitness, finance, relationship, etc). For example, in the area of career I have ever since applied the principle of arriving earlier, working harder, leaving later at my job. And the results have been rewarding.
